Maintenance Manager-Waupaca

PURPOSE

Supervises and coordinates activities of maintenance and janitorial employees engaged in maintaining and repairing tools, machinery, buildings and grounds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Directs workers engaged in grounds maintenance, facilities cleaning and maintenance.
  • Develops and maintains preventative maintenance program.
  • Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies; keeps supply of spare parts.
  • Modifies programs of equipment such as ovens and conveyors. May program PLC units or adjust programs
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Regular attendance and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains machine repairs and costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience                                                  

Minimum Associate Degree is technical discipline and 5 to 7 years in a hands on mechanical maintenance position, plus 3 years in supervisory role. Familiarity with paint processes a plus.  PLC programing is strongly preferred.  Familiarity with all Microsoft programs with above average skills in Excel, and familiarity with ERP software.  Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical wiring, electrical diagram reading, plc programing and troubleshooting. Experience with problem solving, continuous improvement and quality tools is a plus.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Language Skills                                                              

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                      

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                                                          

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
